Project Description

Diversion of Dry Weather Flow from Bapat Nalla And Safed Pul Nalla to Dharavi Wastewater Treatment Facility (WwTF) in Mumbai through segment tunnelling.

Scope of Work

  • Construction of Dry Weather Flow Interceptors at Bapat Nalla and Safed Pul Nalla to intercept and divert Dry Weather Flow Ingress to Mithi River at these locations including Screen Chambers, Flow Meter Chambers.
  • Hydraulic transfer of intercepted DWF from Bapat Nalla (76.9 MLD) and Safed Pul Nalla (89.9 MLD) totalling to an average Flow of 168 MLD via vortex drop shafts through a new transfer tunnel (segmental tunnel) to Dharavi WwTF for treatment.
  • Diameter of Tunnel – 2.6 metres; Length of Tunnel - 6.634 Km.
